Hey Reader,
Changes are coming to Logos. The next major version of Logos will launch this fall as a subscription. Here's some of what they have to say about it:
The three subscription tiers are designed to fit the main ways people use Logos: small group prep (Logos Premium), sermon prep (Logos Pro), and academic and original language study (Logos Max). Our hope is to give users exactly what they need—no more, no less. We want users to feel like their Logos subscription exactly fits their needs.
These subscriptions will replace Preaching Suite, Faithlife Connect, and other Logos feature sets. Libraries will still be available for purchase separately (e.g., Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc.).
Perpetual feature licensing, in some form, will remain a component of our new subscription model. We’re still working out the details of how everything will come together. However, the focus will be on the subscription product. As always, the features and content you’ve purchased are yours forever and accessible with or without a subscription.
My Initial Thoughts
While many people today rightfully feel subscription fatigue, I'm optimistic Logos is going to do this the right way for its users and it will benefit many. Here's a few reasons:
Lower Cost of Entry
Logos packages often carry a high price tag that is a barrier to entry for many folks. Subscription pricing will make Logos libraries and features more accessible rather than making a significant financial investment upfront to get started.
AI and Ongoing Feature Improvements
No more waiting for two years for feature releases. Now, Logos will be providing ongoing updates and improvements. Additionally, they can include advanced AI and cloud-backed features that require ongoing support and help make Logos both easier to use and more powerful. I've already tried some of the AI features. It's fantastic.
Your Keep What You Own
You aren’t required to subscribe to keep your access to content or features you already own in Logos. The subscription is for anyone who wants access to the latest version of Logos which will get new features or improvements roughly every six weeks.
Unlike other subscriptions, with Logos you'll keep features from your subscription that don't rely on the cloud or AI after 24 months—even if you cancel. In that light, I view Logos subscriptions effectively as payment plans.
I'll be sharing more details, recommendations, and thoughts as we get closer to the official launch! Read Logos FAQs about the transition here.

Christians must humble themselves to know the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit. To the extent that we do not humble ourselves, there will be no power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Lord’s work in the Lord’s way is the Lord’s work in the power of the Holy Spirit and not in the power of the flesh.
